On Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1909, The Angel of Death entered the home of Patrick Mulick and took a dear son and brother, Dr. Joseph Mulick.

About six weeks ago, Oct. 10., Sister Mary Leontina was called hence, leaving this home doubly bereft. After a year ago Dr. Mulick discontinued his activities in his chosen profession and spent some months in Hospital treatment coming to his home at Riceville, in July. His trouble taken an acute form about this time keeping him confined to his bed most of the time, where all that living thoughtfulness and scientific care could do was done for him. His sister and father were with constantly, and his brothers were untiring in their efforts to lighten his burden until early Tuesday morning, Nov. 22, all hope was given up, and surrounded by those near and dear to him and fortified by the rites of his Church he died in the "Faith that makes Faithful."

Joe was born on the old homestead two miles east of Riceville, July 22, 1869. Where he lived, worked and studied till 1894 when he took a course and graduated from Valder Business College, Decorah, Iowa, after which he continued his home and work on the farm till 1903 he entered McKillip Veterinary College in Chicago, Ill., graduating in 1906 with honors, in his chosen profession, in which he was very successful until incapacitated by sickness.
