Rachel Meade Palmer was born March 6, 1822, near Five Corners, Cayuga County, N. Y.
She was united in marriage to Zacheus Banks March 23, 1857, and immediately came to their new home in Jamestown township, where she has lived until she was removed to her Heavenly home, Oct. 12, 1910, aged 88 years, 7 months and 6 days.
Early in life Mrs. Banks gave her heart to the Lord. She and her husband were charter members of the Congregational church of Riceville and has remained a faithful and devoted member until she was removed to the church truimphant. She was a kind neighbor and a loving wife and mother, training her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Her husband preceded her to the better land April 9, 1908.
She leaves to mourn her loss her three children, Spencer Clark and Alpheus Palmer of this place, and Edith Winsor, of Princeton, Minn., fourteen grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Esther Hunt of Five Corners, N. Y.
