Hi Deb. I did a search on newsparperarchives.com and found this story from the Mount Pleasant News dated June 10, 1950. It doesn't say anything about a marriage but is very interesting.

Heddcn lias served 32 years
the criminal Insane ward

Anamosa Reforimlory for Men. A
juiy found him to be insane May
3. 1918, and lie was sent to Anamosa.
He has never been tried for the
murder of which he it accused. He
has been brought back to face the
first degree murder charge but It
still Isn't known if the trial will be
held or not. The remaining witnesses
available will be contacted
before the decision Is made. If the
trial Is not held Heddcn will be set
free by the court.
When asked if the News photographer
could take Hccldcn's picture
Hcdden said it would be all right
and posed for it on the lawn of the
county jnll.
Hcdden tins a light build and is
short and bnld. He looks like the
average middlc-ftecd man. He Js
well-mannered and easy Lo Uilk
with.
He said that if he is set free he
will go to Burlington and live with
his, mother, sister and brother-inlaw.
He also plans to travel a lot,
he remarked.
Heddcn appears tp be in good
health despite his 32 years of confinement.
He smiles frequently and
seems to have a pleasing personality.
The first thing Heddcn asked
when he found o"t that I was a
Ncws reporter was if he could have
the News delivered nt. the county
jail while he was there. He subscribed
to the Free Pi ess nil the time
he was nt Anamosa."
