Carrie Manley, 72, of Fairfield, died at 8:10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16 1988, at the Jefferson County hospital, Fairfield.

Born May 29, 1915, in Corsica, S.D., she was the daughter of Abraham and Cornelia Leyden Goemaat. She married Harold H. Manley Feb. 28, 1940, in Ottumwa. He died May 6, 1978.

She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of the Jefferson County area.

Surviving are one son, Jim Manley, Danville; one sister, Daisy Richey, Freemont, Calif.; one brother, Boss Goematt, Birmingham, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield.

The service for Mrs. Manley will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, Iowa.

A memorial has been established for the Jefferson County Park for Wildlife Conservation.
