Clyde E. Prier
Burlington native, Clyde E. Prier, 71, of Salem, died at his home Friday, February 4.
He was born March 7, 1911, to Clarence and Anna Vaugh Prier.
Mr. Prier drove for Yellow Cab, of Burlington for 18 years. After leaving Burlington, he worked for the parks department of the city of Ottumwa.
Surviving: his wife, Alma Keck Sondag; two sons, Clyde E., Port Charlotte, Fla, and Burton, Wever; three daughters, Sandra Gilley, Harlan, Ky., and Barbara Prier and Sharon Trumbo, both of Burlington; brother, Floyd, Monmouth, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Scripture service: 7 p.m., Weir Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, the Rev. Robert Striegel. Committal service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Harper, the Rev. Robert McAleer.
