Funeral Sunday for Mrs. L. Cook
Passed Away at Memorial Hospital Friday After Ten Days’ Illness
Mrs. Lyman Cook, 63, who for many years was a practical nurse in the community, passed away at the Memorial hospital at Mt. Pleasant, Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock. She had been a patient at the hospital 10 days.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Christian church. Dr. U.S. Smith, pastor of the Grace Methodist church, gave the sermon assisted by the Rev. Frank Sutton, pastor of the Christian church. Burial was in Burge Cemetery.
Cecelia Ann, daughter of Margaret Hudson and Marion Clark, was born June 1, 1877 in Pleasant Grove township, Des Moines County, Iowa. On August 18, 1896, she married Lyman Cook, who passed away December 18, 1918, and since that time she has done practical nursing. They were the parents of two sons, Irving Henry , who passed away at the age of nine and Earl Cook of Mt. Pleasant, who survives. She also leaves one brother, Tom Clark of New London, and one sister, Josephine, of Portland, Oregon.
