Samuel Lee
Samuel Lee, 85, formerly of New London, and who had lived more recently for three years in Hotel Burlington, died Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at the Harmony Nursing home in Mediapolis where he had been a patient for eight months.

The son of Sarah Jane Stafford and Green Lee, he was born Oct. 26,1876, in Prescott, Iowa. He married Maude M. Chrissinger in New London on Nov. 22, 1897.

He was a retired farmer-stockman. The couple had lived on a farm north of New London before moving to Burlington. He was a member of the Beulah Methodist church, northwest of New London.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Alter, 1808 Grube, Burlington; Mrs. Pansy Cleaver, Red Oak; Mrs. Beulah Jackson, Chicago; one son, Willis S. Lee, Jean, Nev.; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-granchildren; three brothers, Harry Lee of Larimore, N.D.; Walter Lee, Oakdale, Ia.; Roy Lee, 2800 Kirkwood, Burlington. One daughter, Mrs. Thelma Britton, one brother, Victor and a sister, Laura are dead.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Elliot Chapel in New London. Burial will be in Forest Home cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
