Obituary
Irene Linn Ramsey, daughter of John E. and Rhoda Linn was born near New London, Iowa, April 5, 1852. She grew to womanhood in this locality uniting with the Methodist Episcopal Church at the age of 18. She was married to George W. Ramsey, March 31, 1871. To this union four children were born, being Mrs. Ella Wright, Mrs. Belle Mathews, Mrs. Winnie Colton, all of New London and a son who died in infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey resided on a farm east of New London until Mr. Ramsey’s death in 1910. Mrs. Ramsey has been in ill health for the last three years and passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 17 at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 12 days.
She was a member of the Daughter’s of Veterans and of the Women’s Relief Corps. She was cheerful and patient through her long suffering and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She leaves to mourn her loss, three children, also two sisters, Mrs. Kate Bannister, Ord, Nebr., and Mrs. Mollie Miller of Boston, Mass., also one half sister, Martha Kuechen of Burlington, Iowa, several nieces and nephews, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
