Funeral services for Ralph E. Osborne, 63, were held from the Independent Bible Church, Wayland, Tuesday March 20, 1984 at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Howard Butts in charge of the services. Music was by organist Karen Neff and a vocal duet by Karen Sinn and Ed Arbogast. Casket bearers were Don McAvoy, John Unternahrer, Gene Messer, John Hinkle, Ed Wagler, and Roger Porter. Honorary bearers were Alfred Wagler, Ezra Smith, Frank Wiggins, Sr., Bill Nelson, Dean Meyer.

Victor J. Hesseltine and Arthur Speas folded the flag at the gravesite at North Hill Cemetery. Masonic services were conducted by Adoniram Lodge #120 A. F. & A.M. at the Beatty Funeral Home, Wayland, Monday evening, March 19, 1984 at 6:30 P.M.

Mr. Osborne passed away at the Mediapolis Care Center Friday, March 16, 1984 at 7:15 P.M. having suffered a stroke and heart attack several weeks ago. Born December 8, 1920 in Laurens County, South Carolina, the son of Willie and Lula Rhodes Osborne, and on November 22, 1945 at Greer,South Carolina he was married to Beulah Davidson.

He attended the Independent Bible Church, Wayland, and was a member of Wayland O.E. S. #494 and Adoniram Lodge #120 A.F. & A.M. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired employee of Yoders, Inc. in Wayland.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah; three children, Ralph Jr. of Burlington; Cheryl Howard, Muscatine; and Robert of Muscatine; eight grandchildren, two sisters Mary Miller of Woodruff, South Carolina, Estelle Bennett, Clemson, South Carolina, and step-mother Helen Outley of Clemson, South Carolina.

His parents, three sisters, and four brothers preceded him in death.
