Leslie Earnest Alter, 70, Route 2, Mt. Pleasant, died at 7:47 A.M. Friday March 9, 1984 at the Henry County Health Center. He was born January 24, 1914 in Trenton Township, the son of Phillip and Barbara Rich Alter. He married Ruth Elaine Anderson on June 1, 1940 at Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Alter formerly worked for Monson Roofing Co., Mt. Pleasant, and was a retired farmer. Mr. Alter was of the protestant faith.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Ivan L., Mt. Pleasant, and Donald G., North Liberty; one daughter, Deanne Alter, Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Emily Farrier, Brighton.

One daughter, two sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death.
