Elmer VanSyoc, 100, New London, died at 1 P.M. Monday January 23, 1984 at the New London Care Center. He was born October 4, 1883 at Winfield, the son of Moses and Margaret Sater VanSyoc. He married Nellie Cady on February 2, 1910 at Winfield. She died November 30, 1977.

Mr. VanSyoc farmed five miles northwest of New London for 37 years, was an auctioneer for 40 years and was a member of the New London United Presbyterian Church. He served on the board of directors of the New London Elevator, on the board of directors of the Supply Co-op, Mt. Pleasant, was a township trustee and had served on the New London School board.

Surviving are two sons, Frank E. and Harold H., both of New London, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Pearl, Mt. Pleasant. Three brothers and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 28 at the Elliott Chapel, New London. The Rev. James Edwards will officiate with interment in the Burge Cemetery.

A memorial for his church has been established. Friends may call at the chapel Friday from 7 to 8:30 P.M.
