John Prier
John Raymond “Jack” Prier, 91, of Whittier, Calif., died at 10:20 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 1994, in the Park Regency Care Center in LaHabra, Calif.
Born April 12, 1903, in Olena, Ill., he was the son of Allen Thomas and Lydia Charlotte Burrell Perdue Prier. In 1925, he married Elsie Myers. She died July 27, 1981.
Mr. Prier was a mechanical engineer for the Riveria Stone Co., in Whittier for many years
Survivors include one son, Ray J. Prier of Burlington; two daughters, Delores Prier of Danville and Beverly Ann Jacoby of Hot Springs, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Long of Burlington.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Banks & Beals in Stronghurst, with the Rev. John Grimes officiating. Burial will be in Olena cemetery near Stronghurst, Ill.
