Phyllis Darling

Phyllis Grace Darling, 74, of Jacksonville, Fla., died of congestive heart failure Friday, May 27, 2005, at Baptist Heart Hospital in Jacksonville.

Born Sept. 17, 1930, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Wilbur Volney and Mary Elizabeth Willey Conor. On Nov. 22, 1956, she married John Darling Jr.

Mrs. Darling moved with her mother and stepfather, Eddie Schultz, to Hialeah, Fla., in 1945, where she remained until her marriage. She was a resident of Lanier Manor nursing home in Jacksonville for several years.

Survivors include her husband; two brothers, Alfred G. Conor Sr. of Burlington and Henry Merle Conor of Eden Prairie, Minn.; four nephews and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

A memorial service for Mrs. Darling will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Lanier Manor.

A memorial has been established for Lanier Manor.
