Obituary - THE HAWK EYE, Burlington, Iowa - Sunday, February 18, 1990

WARREN C. FERRINGTON

Warren Chester "Chet" Ferrington, 90, St. Francis Care Center, died at 5:02 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Aug. 9, 1899, in Spring Grove, he was the son of Samuel and Lucy Penrod Ferrington. He married Mabel Evelyn Shipley Sept. 21, 1921, in Burlington. She died July 6, 1982.

He worked for the city streets department and was a member of First Christian Church, senior citizens, RSVP and the Masons.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Mae (Charles P.) Miller, Burlington; one sister, Mary Lou Atkinson, Burlington; a close friend, Helen Neff, Burlington; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel.

The service for Mr. Ferrington will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, New London.

A memorial has been established.
