AGED PIONEER OF LOWELL, MR. SAMPSON LEWIS, PASSED AWAY
Sampson Lewis, aged and well known resident of Lowell for a great many years, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bertha De Long of near Weaver* this morning after an illness of a great many months, the past year of which he has been bedfast.
Mr. Lewis is perhaps the last of the pioneer residents of Lowell. For a great many years he owned a operated a grist and flour mill at Lowell and it has been but recently that the old mills were torn down. He is survived by three children, Mrs. De Long with whom he made his home, Mrs. Flo Gerber of Ft. Madison and Mr. Mertin Lewis of Colorado. It is thot that the funeral will be held Thursday at Lowell but definite arrangements have not been made as of yet.
