John Bangs, a wealthy retired farmer and one of the earliest pioneers of that section, died at New London. He was 87 years old. He is a direct descendant of the people who came over from England in the ship “Anna” that landed at Plymouth Rock in June, 1621. He came to Iowa in 1836. Iowa then was a part of the territory of Wisconsin.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Oct. 10, 1826 and died Feb. 6, 1913. He is buried in Burge Cemetery in New London
