K. Strang dies at 68

Mount Pleasant - Katherine Strang, 68, of Mount Pleasant, died unexpectedly Monday, 5:35 a.m., at her home.

She was born March 21, 1910 at Fairfield, the daughter of Frank and Dorthea Shemanski Burke. On Sept. 1, 1930 she married Joe D. Strang at Fairfield.

She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was employed many years at the Henry County Health Center.

Surviving are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Burke of Fairfield; two daughters, Joanne Looker of Mount Pleasant, mary Christine Ryan of Manchester, Mo.; one son, Frank of Oswego, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Bob and Bernie Burke both of Fairfield and Albert Burke of Indian Head, Md.

Services will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at St. Alphonsus Church with the Rev. Paul C. Albers officiating. The rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., at Beatty Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the church of the deceased.
