Winfield Beacon March 13, 1969.

Bertha E. Skipton, 85, of Winfield, passed away
early Tuesday Morning, March 11, 1969, at the
Burlington Hospital where she had been a patient
for the past four days. She had been quite ill
for the past month.

The daughter of John Frank and Anna Caroline
(Whitson) Taylor, she was born December 23, 1883,
at Vinton, Iowa.

She was married to Roy Skipton May 6, 1910, at
Winfield. He preceded her in death on December
2, 1961.

Practically her entire live was spent in the
Winfield vicinity. She was a member of the Royal
Neighbors and the Rebekah Local.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mamie Caroline
Beckham of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by
her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm today, Thursday,
March 13, 1969 at Barton-Mckasson Funeral Home,
Winfield, with Rev. Harold Hurt, pastor, Winfield
First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Organist, Mrs. Keith Crawford. Bearers, William
Ibbotson, George Buster, Clarence Underwood, Ivan Lee, Walter Schwartz and William Cargen.

Interment, Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery,
Winfield, Iowa.
