Winfield Beacon June 21, 1951.

Ozmer (Ozzie) Skipton, 64, Winfield painter, was
found dead early Sunday morning at his home in
the east part of town.

Mr. Skipton's body was discovered by Bennie Fread,
Sunday paper boy, when he took the paper to the
porch and happened to glance through the window.
It was believed Mr. Skipton had been dead for
several hours. death was attributed to a hemorrhage.

Funeral services are being delayed until his son,
Calvin, arrives from Alaska where he is with the
Coast Guard. Burial will be in the Winfield-
Scott Township cemetery. Barton's Service is in
charge, and services will be at the Barton
Funeral Home. The Rev. C.E. Chandler will officiate.

Ozmer Reed Skipton, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs.
W.D. Skipton, was born near Winfield on August 28,
1886. He attended the local schools.

He was married to Nettie Blockmole at Leavenworth,
Kansas in 1912, To this union, two children were born.

Surviving are the son, Calvin, who is married and
lives at Sitka, Alaska, a daughter, Louise Richardson of Spokane, Washington, a grandson of Spokane; his step-mother, Mrs W.D. Skipton; and
three brother, Roy of Winfield; Arthur G. (Glenn)
of Marshalltown; and Harry of Fayette, and a nephew, son of Harry.

The daughter was unable to come for the funeral.
