Winfield Beacon January 21, 1975.

Ola Eland Skipton passed away Friday morning,
January 20, at his home in Winfield.

The son of Lewis and Edith (Eveland) Skipton, he
was born October 28, 1896 in Winfield. He had
been in ill health since 1970.

On march 18, 1922 he was married to Hattie Wait
in Des Moines.

Until he retired and moved to Winfield in 1957,
he was an auditor for Standard Oil at Des Moines.

He surved in the Navy in WW-I and was a member of
the American Legion Post #643/

He was a member of the United Methodist Church
of Winfield.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Larry Dale
of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; one brother, Dr. George
Skipton of St. Joseph, Missouri; one sister, Mrs.
Elton Hewitt of Morning Sun and three grand
children.

Funeral sirvices were conducted at 2 pm Monday,
Jan. 13, at the Barton-Mckasson Funeral Home,
Winfield, Iowa, with Rev. Harold E. Schirm, pasor,
United Methodist Church, Winfield, Officiating.

Mrs. Keith Crawford was organist; Virgail Hall,
Loyal Hewitt, Benny Buffington, Ralph Huedepohl,
Kim Hewitt and Howard Botson, casket bearers.

Interment was at Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery,
Winfield, Iowa. Military Honor Guard was provided
by Winfield American Legion Post No. 643.
