THOMAS C. CALHOUN
DIED AT BLOOMFIELD

Bloomfield, Sept. 2 – Thomas C. Calhoun was born in the state of Ohio, Feb. 22, 1836, and passed away in Bloomfield; August 31, 1914, aged 78 years, 7 months and nine days. His father and family came to Iowa in in 1838 and settled on a farm in Van Buren County, where “Uncle Tom” as he was called grew to manhood. He lived to near middle age, where he was married to Miss Rebecca Albright

He leaves a wife, one son, Jacob Calhoun, and two daughters, Mrs. Rose McMillen and Mrs. J. M. Krewson to mourn a kind husband and loving father. The McMillen funeral was held from the home this afternoon conducted by Rev. J. P. Thomason the Baptist Church. The remains were laid to rest in South Bloomfield Cemetery.
