Mrs. Clyde Spry’s death occurred Sunday at the hospital in Keokuk, where she had been taken for an operation.

Fern Barney was born in Jackson township December 15, 1887. Four years of her life were spent in school at Mt. Pleasant in preparatory and college work.

She was married to Clyde Spry January 25, 1911. Two boys were born, Ben, 5 years old, and Glen, 2 months old.

For two years after their marriage, they lived in Monoma County, and a year in Minnesota, and they returned to Jackson township.

She leaves besides her husband and two little sons, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Barney and brother Ben E. of Mt. Pleasant, Earl and Wesley who are at home, and other relatives.

“Fern, the bright, lovable wife, mother, daughter, and friend has gone home to her Father in heaven and, as we mourn, she is resting in the arms of her Savior.”

The funeral was held at the M.E. church Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Hankins of Winfield and Rev. Bloomquist.
