O. H. Cook died yesterday morning at his home here, at the age of 85 years. Death was due to infirmities due to old age. He had been very low for some time and required constant attention.

He had resided in this vicinity since youth and was a farmer till about 25 years or more ago when he retired. He was a man of great strength of character.

His wife died 12 years ago. He leaves four children: Cashier C. H. Cook of Salem, Dr. E. W. Cook of Rock Island, County, Atty. A. ER. Cook of Malvern, Iowa, and Mrs. D. E. Reeves of Keokuk. He also leaves four grandsons, a granddaughter, and two great-gradndaughters.

The funeral was held at the Congregational Church of which Mr. Cook was a member, at 2:30 this afternoon, Rev. Gray being in charge. Burial was in the Friend Cemetery.
