MRS. ELLEN BROTZER

Ellen Danihy was born in Cork county, Ireland, March 16, 1844. Departed this life July 23, 1925, age 81 years four months and seven days at the home of her daughters Lulu and Ida Holt who had tenderly cared for her for the past nine months.

At the age of seventeen she came to America with her parents and settled in Henry County, Iowa.

She was married to Dr. Benjamin Moore. To this union were born two children, Charlie Moore, who was with her at the time of her death and Kate Timberlake, who preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1924.

After Dr. Moore's death, she was married to Alois Brotzer, who passed away at their home in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Aug. 17, 1914. To this union four children were born, Anna Hauf of Huntley, Montana; Harold Brotzer of Trenton, Iowa, and Lulu and Ida Holt of Lockridge, Ia. She leaves one sister, a brother, five children and nine grandchildren.

A devoted sister, Mary Jeffery, who came out from Trenton to spend a couple of days with her, passed away very suddenly the first night, just six weeks ago.

In November 1923, Mrs. Brotzer had a stroke of paralysis and was confined to her chair until April 21 of this year, since which time she has been confined to her bed and everything that loving hands could do was done to relieve her suffering, but to no avail. She grew steadily worse until death released her.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. C.J. Hallman at the Greenmound church. The pallbearers were Charley Lyons, Theo Watts, Geo Coppock, Louie Zihlman, John Hinkle, Will Craff. The singers were Mrs. Alvin Smith, Mrs. Herman Eglie, Wade McBeth and Jonah Eglie.

"I cannot say, I will not say, that she is dead; she is just away.
In the love of there, as the love of here, think of her still, the same I say.
She is not dead, she is just away."
