Susan Peppers

Susan Peppers, 64, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

According to her wishes, the body has been cremated.

Mrs. Peppers was born April 8, 1949, in Columbus Junction, the daughter of Leland and Leona Stapp Wheeler. She married Richard Hahn Nov. 11, 1968, and the couple later divorced. She married Paul D. Peppers Jan. 20, 1978, in Mount Pleasant.

She graduated from Columbus Junction High School in 1967.

Mrs. Peppers worked at Lamont Molding for more than 30 years. She started working on the production line and later became a supervisor. She also had worked as a teacher at Head Start and as a bartender at Westside Tap.

She enjoyed doing needle point, painting ceramics and going to flea markets.

She also enjoyed tending flowers and gardening.

An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include her husband Paul, of Mount Pleasant; two sons, Richard Hahn of Wesleco, Texas, and Martin Hahn of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, LaVonda Hahn of Mount Pleasant; one stepdaughter, Patricia Wells of Burlington; one brother, Mike Wheeler of Washington, Iowa; three sisters, Nina Calvelage of Lakeville, Iowa, and Sherry Holmes of Broken Arrow, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one stepson, Steven Dale Peppers; and one brother, Jerry.
