J.F. Barton

LOCKRIDGE - J.F. Barton, 79, died Wednesday morning at his home in Round Prairie Township south of Lockridge.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Round Prairie Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the Round Prairie Baptist Church.

J.F. Barton was born March 27, 1903, in Round Prairie Township, the son of Samuel and Ella Lee Barton. He was married Sept. 20, 1922, to Marie McElwee.

He is survived by his widow; one son, Wesley D., Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Wanda Wesley, Memphis, Mo., and Elloise Moyle, Lacrosse, Wisc.

Also 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Dale Barton, Hillsboro; two sisters, Susie McWilliams, Knoxville, Ill., and Mary McElwee, Mount Pleasant.
