Biggs rites

MT. PLEASANT - Harold C. Biggs, 53, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday at 2:17 a.m. in Veterans Hospital, Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Church of the Open Bible in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Charles Cortney officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call as they desire after 1 p.m. today at Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Family and friends will meet at the church for fellowship after graveside services.

A memorial has been established to the dialysis unit of Henry County Health Center.

Biggs was born Feb. 4, 1929 at Douds, the son of Howard and Clarice Olson Biggs. On Jan. 15, 1953 at Mt. Pleasant, he married Doris Ford who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Waunita Biggs of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Wendell of Burlington; two grandsons; his mother of Fairfield; three brothers, Wayne and Alden, both of Fairfield, Charles of Fremont and a sister, Arlene Roberts of Fairfield. His father, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

For the past 26 years Biggs had been associated with the Continental Telephone Company. He was a member of the Iowa Kidney Foundation.
