Ruth Jurkas rites Thursday

MOUNT PLEASANT - Ruth Charbonneaux Jurkas, 65, died Monday at the home of her sister in Mount Pleasant.

Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Prey Funeral Home in Oglesby, Ill. Burial will be in Deer Park Cemetery in LaSalle County, Ill. Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant is in charge of area arrangements.

Mrs. Jurkas was born June 21, 1922 at Lockridge, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred McElwee Charbonneaux. She married Fred Jurkas July 20, 1946. She was a member of Moose Lodge and served with the Navy in Ottumwa during World War I.

Surviving are a daughter, Joanne Buczkowski of Peru, Ill.; two sons, John and Robert, both of Oglesby, Ill.; five grandchildren; six brothers, Fred Charbonneaux of Delta, Jim of Keosauqua, Roger of Pahrump, Nev., Ralph Jr. and Benny, both of Logan, Tom of Naples, Calif.; two sisters, Paulene Jennings of Mount Pleasant and Linda Meiners of Oglesby, Ill.

Her husband, parents and a brother preceded her in death.
