Maxwell Rites At Winfield

WINFIELD - Kenneth William Maxwell, 54, native of Lockridge passed away Tuesday evening at Winfield where he made his home. He was the owner of the "Welcome Inn" at Winfield.

Funeral services were scheduled today, Friday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winfield Cemetery. The arrangements were in charge of the Barton-McKasson Funeral Home.

Kenneth William Maxwell was born July 9, 1919, at Lockridge, the son of Virgil and Anna Allerdice Maxwell. He was married Sept. 4, 1945, to Maybel Carlson at Winfield. She survives.

Maxwell was a member of the United Methodist Church, served in the Armed Forces during World War II, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW at Winfield; the American Legion Post at Fairfield; was a member of the Winfield City Council and Fire Department.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by his father and stepmother, Shelbina, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Joy Rutenbeck, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Linda Keltner, Columbus Junction; and Debbie at home; one son, John, at home; a sister, Mrs. Irwin Moothart, New Sharon; and two grandchildren.
