Roy Adkins Dies At 85

LOCKRIDGE - Funeral services were held Saturday at Hartville, Mo., for Roy Vaughn Adkins of Lockridge.

Services were held at the Bogart Chapel in Hartville with the Rev. Charles Maraman officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens at Mountain Home, Ark.

Adkins died Sept. 15 at the Tri-County Health Facility at Mansfield, Mo., following a lengthy illness.

He was a resident of the Lockridge Community for a number of years during which he was a barber in the Leo Kepler barbershop in Fairfield. The family moved to Midway, Ark., and later moved to Hartville.

Roy Vaughn Adkins was born Jan. 20, 1892, at Lesterville, Mo., the son of James M. and Maria E. Barton Adkins. He was married to Bessie Brooks who preceded her husband in death in November, 1970.

Survivors include two sons, Warren, Wichita, Kans.; Lowell, Lockridge; one daughter, Mrs. Marion Schotanus, Norman, Okla.; a brother, T.A. Adkins, Hartville, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Grace M. Ebert, Mason City; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
