Manning Rites On Wednesday

MOUNT PLEASANT - Mrs. Mabel Manning, former resident of the Merrimac Community, died Monday, Sept. 24, about 6:30 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant Manor Nursing Home. She was 80 years of age.

Last rites will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Green Mound Church of God with the Rev. Ralph Draper officiating. Burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery with Beatty-Jennings Funeral Home in charge.

Mabel Manning was born April 9, 1893, near Merrimac, the daughter of Lewis and Laura Haifley Norton. She was married to Charles Manning Feb. 24, 1915. He died Aug. 29, 1966. She was a member of the Green Mound Church of God.

Survivors include three sons: Clifford, Mount Pleasant; Donald, Cantril; and Rex, Wayland; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald Turner, Bonaparte; and five grandchildren.
