Saturday Rites For Willeford

MT. PLEASANT - Last rites for George W. Willeford, 67, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lockridge Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lenwood Monte officiating.

Willeford died Thursday at his home in Mount Pleasant. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery. The body is at the Crane-Ewart-Young Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

Willeford was born Oct. 9, 1906 at Gorin, Mo., the son of Philander and Artice Cupp Willeford. He was married Aug. 28, 1947 to Esther Craff, who survives.

Also surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Lester Baker and Mrs. R.B. McNeil, Burlington; Mrs. Gladys Clark, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Barbara Eland, Bellflower, Calif.; Mrs. Ed Young, Bellingham, Wash.; Levi Willeford, Keokuk; and Emmett Willeford, Rock Island, Ill.

Willeford was a retired employe of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. He was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College and a member of the Masonic Lodge and United Presbyterian Church.
