Howard M. Kitch

Howard M. Kitch, 92, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery at Mount Pleasant. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Nelson Nursing Home Activity Fund.

Kitch was born Oct. 14, 1899, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Joel and Fannie Lane Kitch. He had lived in Fairfield since 1947. He was a farmer in Marion Township, Henry County, and a member of Eagles Lodge 1927.

Surviving are five sons, Marvin and Wendell, both of Fairfield, William of Guam, Ronald and Donald, both of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Rita VanDerSnick and Shirley Kitch, both of Fairfield, Jean McGee of Beeville, Texas; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Reuben; five grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth, Edith, Laura and a brother, George, preceded him in death.
