Ruth Haushahn

SALEM - Ruth Haushahn, 84, of Salem, formerly of the Round Prairie community, died at 7:02 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 1996, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Salem Congregational Church, with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Visitation will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the family present from 6:30 to 8. A memorial has been established to Salem First Responders.

Mrs. Haushahn was born July 10, 1911, in the Round Prairie community, the of William and Carrie Crane Barton. On Dec. 23, 1931, she married Wayne Haushahn. She was a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church, but attended Salem Congregational Church. She was a member of Salem American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Bonnie Vicars and Betty Ann Heartsill, both of Salem; a son, Ben of Burlington; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bart; and a brother, Roy Barton.
