ANOTHER PIONEER GONE.

Died at his home near Mt. Pleasant, July 21st, '84, Mr. Collin Forbes in the 82nd year of his age. He was born near College Corners, New York, May 7th 1803. On January 1st 1829 was united in marriage to Miss Jane Johnston by whose side he traveled lifes pathway until February last when his faithful companion was called home there to await his coming on the farther shore. He confessed faith in Christ and identified himself with the Chritian church in the year 1832. Of his ever faithful and hopeful christian life, and his kind and sympathetic nature, we need not speak, as he was extensively known and universally honored and respected by all who knew him.

He came to Mt. Pleasant in the Spring of 1837, in the vicinity of which place, he has since lived. He was especially favored during his declining years, to have his son O.P. Forbes, with whom he lived, and his two daughters, Mrs. Harris Palmer, of this city and Mrs. H. D. Andrews of his immediate neighborhood, to watch over and care for him, when he was, as but a child again.

On the afternoon of July 22d, after the usual services at his home, the many relatives, neighbors and friends followed the remains to his family burying grounds, where all that is mortal of Uncle Collin Forbes was gently laid to rest, there to await the summons of Him, who is able to call him forth again in his own good time, S.W. G.
