Williams rites Wednesday

The Rev. Hugh E. Williams, 86, of San Diego, Calif., died Friday at a San Diego hospital. A Methodist minister, he had served as a pastor at both Richland and Keota.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Glen Parrott officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Danville. Memorials to the Cancer Society may be left at the funeral chapel.

Williams was born Nov. 16, 1894 at Danville, the son of Franklin and Flora Parrott Williams. He attended Iowa State University, served in WWI and graduated from Kansas City University. He married Cora Leonard June 6, 1924 in Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Lauralee Maudlin of San Diego, Maguerite Entz of Los Angeles, Calif., Nelda Palmer of Fairfield; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, all of the Danville area.
