Donald K. Johnson

Donald K. Johnson, 89, of Mount Pleasant and formerly of Crawfordsville died __ a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Pleasant Manor Care Center.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant with the Rev. Philip Borleske officiating. Burial will be in Swedesburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held until 8 p.m. today at the memorial chapel. No family visitation is planned. Memorials may be made to Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 8, 1911, in Fairfield, the son of Peter J. and Dorthea H. Nelson Johnson. He married Dorothy Marjorie Quick April 19, 1941, in Swedesburg.

Mr. Johnson was educated in rural Jefferson County schools. He farmed in the Mount Union area until he purchased a farm in Crawfordsville. He farmed there for many years until his retirement in 1981. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Mount Pleasant.

He was a longtime member of Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Crawfordsville Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Dwayne D. Johnson of Mount Pleasant; one grandson; and two brothers, Willard B. Johnson of Fairfield and C.L. Johnson of Houghton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Morris Eugene Johnson; four sisters, Francis P. Johnson, Helen A. Livix, Ruth M. Schenk and Marjorie V. Johnson; and two brothers, Claire L. Johnson and George W. Johnson.
