Ocie Boese, 82, Fairfield, former Wayland resident, died Monday, 8:55 p.m., at Jefferson County Hospital.
She was born Oct. 26, 1896 at Eldon, the daughter of Charles and Eliza Simmons Black. On Dec. 25, 1916 she married Jacob Boese. He died Nov. 11, 1964. She had lived in the Fairfield community since 1936.
Surviving are four daughters, Frances Boese, Fairfield, Mildred Boese, Keosauqua, Edith Nordyke, Batavia, Dorothy Bartholomew, Washington; three sons, Art and Howard, both of Lockridge, Dale of Fairfield; one brother, Gholson Black, Floris; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren.
Services will be Thursday 10 a.m., at Beatty Funeral Home, Wayland, with burial in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
