Marjorie S. Rothenberger

Marjorie S. Rothenberger, 80, of Winfield died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with the Rev. Don Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A general memorial has been established.

Mrs. Rothenberger was born March 11, 1921, near Libertyville, the daughter of Abraham and Lucy "Lottie" Thomson Schwartz. She married John A. Cullinan and they were later divorced. She married Richard Rothenberger Jan. 30, 1978. He died Dec. 3, 199_.

She was a graduate of Winfield High School and of the Dayton School of Cosmetology in Ottumwa. She owned Marjories' Beauty Salon in Winfield for 51 years.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield and the church circle. Gardening was one of her hobbies.

Survivors include one daughter, Jill and Rick Helmuth of Burlington; one son, Ron and Linda Cullinan of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Pauline and Merle Garrett of Carson, Calif., and Dorothy (and) Leroy Erickson of Dubuque.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Saundra.
