Elaine Kay McClure

Elaine Kay McClure, 51, of Lockridge died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home with Diane Brokken officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery near Rome. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday with family present home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.

Mrs. Mc.Clure was born July 1, 1948, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Otto F. and Dorothy Schlarbaum Vorhies. She married Ronald "Bill" McClure April 4, 1965, in Trenton.

She lived her entire life in the Lockridge community. She attended Four Corner and Lockridge elementary schools and Fairfield High School. She worked at Lockridge Elementary School as both custodian and kitchen help. She had worked as a nursing assistant at New London Care Center, and she had worked at the Lockridge cafes.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, Jerry and Steven McClure, both of Lockridge; two granddaughters; her mother of Lockridge; two sisters, Margaret Eshelman of Lockrige and Joan Berg of Columbia, Mo.; and one brother, Donald Vorhies of Lockridge.

She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Walter Vorhies; and one sister, Helen Vorhies.
