Obituary of Presley T. Miller.

PRESLEY T. MILLER, son of Absolem and Matilda Miller, was born near Utica, Van Buren county, Ia., July 9, 1858, and departed this life Nov. 3, 1917, aged 59 years, 3 mos., and 5 days.

He was married to Salina Stilwell August 17, 1880. To this union were born four children- Boyd of Stockport, Iowa, Cora, Craig and Helen at home, and one little grandson-Ralph Miller.

He leaves two brothers and two sisters-John of California; Will of Hillsboro, Iowa, and Miss Lavina Miller of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Wm. Spray of Stockport, Iowa, to mourn his loss.

One sister and two brothers preceded him to the Great Beyond.

His illness dates back to March, 1917, of which he recovered sufficiently to be up and aroudd (around) until about two months ago, when he was confined to his bed most of the time, retaining his stregth remarkably well.

His was a quiet life, neat and painstaking in all his duties. Greatly interested in his home and family welfare, a kind, loving father, a devoted father, whose face will always be with us in memory. He was highly esteemed as a neighbor and citizen and will be greatly missed in the community in which he resided, took part for forty years.

He has been a member of the Masonic orders; also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, and for ten years an active member of the Farmers Mutual Insurance Association of Birmingham, Iowa.

Funeral services were held from the home on Tuesday, Novmber 6, at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Hess, Pastor of the Christian church at Mt. Pleasant. The Masonic order had charge at the Cemetery. The Foral Offerings were many and beautiful. Interment in the Hillsboro cemetery.

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Farmer's Mutual Insurance Association of Birmingham, Iowa, for the beautiful Floral Offering in memory of our loving husband and father.
