Jasper N. Mink, 88 dies

SILVIS, Ill. - Jasper N. Mink, 88, of Silvis, Ill., died Nov. 20, 1993, at the Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Burial will be in the Winfield-Scott Cemetery, Winfield.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

Jasper Newell Mink was born May 2, 1905, at Floyd County, Ill., to Marshal and Cora (Moody) Mink. He married Bessie Lou Isom on April 4, 1922. She preceded him in death in 1984. He was the West Coast service representative for the American Machine and Metal Company and retired in 1970. He then worked as a security guard at the Illini Hospital, retiring in 1985. In his earlier years, he worked for the Illinois Highway Patrol.

Survivors include: three sons, Newell Mink, Silvis, Ill., Bill Mink, Camanche, and Bobby Mink, Moline, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, one brother, and one half-sister.
