Mrs. Clara Barker, 88, Dies in Pullman, Wash.

Mrs. Clara Turkington Barker, 88, of 205 Ash Street in Pullman, Wash., died March 22 at Memorial Hospital there. She had been ill for two years.

Mrs. Barker was born Aug. 7, 1870 in Winfield and was educated there and at Iowa Wesleyan College. In 1893 she was married to Thomas F. Barker and they lived in Washington County from 1919 to 1954. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Sherman's Funeral Home with Dr. Lloyd Latta in charge. Burial will be in the Winfield Cemetery.

The body will arrive Wednesday morning and friends may call at Sherman's Funeral Home until 1 p.m. The casket will not be opened during the services. Burial will be in the Winfield Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Charles; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Her husband was a Methodist minister who at one time served churches at Crawfordsville, Eldon, Keokuk, and Letts and was once a substitute minister in Washington.
