Humphrey rites

MOUNT PLEASANT - Services for Maggie Humphrey, 91, who died Monday at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Mount Pleasant, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Round Prairie Baptist Church south of Lockridge with the Rev. Dan Woodward and the Rev. Dale Barton officiating. Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Beatty-Wilkins Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Memorials have been established to the Round Prairie Baptist Church and to Lambirth Cemetery.

Mrs. Humphrey was born March 11, 1895 at Kodel, Kan., the daughter of John and Ella Hockett Hudson. She formerly lived in the Round Prairie community and was a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church. She married Burton Humphrey, who died Dec. 4, 1972.

Surviving are a daughter, Hazel Heckenberg of Mount Pleasant; four sons, Arlo of Farmington, Earl of Mount Pleasant, Harold and Howard, both of Burlington; a sister, Rose Van Dorin Moehle of Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers, three sisters and a son preceded her in death.
