Mrs. Leona Ruth Faris, 84, died Friday at the Manor House Nursing Home in Sigourney. Services were held at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton with Rev. Debby Kiesey officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton.

Mrs. Faris was born April 1, 1894 in Webster, the only child of Henry and Susie Sylvester Snider. In 1925, she moved to Brighton where she married E. Floyd Faris on December 29, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 28, 1959. Survivors include two sons, Ben H. of Brighton and Bill Burton of Davenport, one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Lola) Ruty Nelson of Ollie and three grandchildren Anne and Phyllis Nelson and Lewis Farris.

She was a member of the Ollie Baptist Church.

Casket bearers were Lawrence Hunter, Ben Crandall, Don Mullikin, Joe Hook, Richard Williams of Ollie, and Neal Whisler.
