Roy E. Swailes

Roy E. Swailes, 77, 307 South Jefferson, Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 1984, at 10 a.m. at the Henry County Health Center.

He was born July 3, 1907, at Mt. Pleasant, the son of Frank and Mary Etta Scarff Swailes. On April 5, 1930, at Mt. Pleasant, He married Verda Dill.

He was a member of the Faith Lutheran church and a charter member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge. He operated a garage and radiator shop in Mt. Pleasant for many years.

Surviving are his wife; one brother, Wilson W., Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Mrs. Florence Gilbert, Ingleside, Ill.; many nieces and nephews.

His Parents, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel L. Krueger will officiate with interment in Forest Home Cemetery.

Friends may call as they desire at the Beatty Funeral Home. A Memorial has been established for his church.
