Carl Shumaker Dies at Burlington

Carl Shumaker, 50, of Burlington, formerly of this county and known to many in the county, was found dead in his car at Burlington Thursday afternoon. Death was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Mr. Shumaker was prominent in several organizations. He was a member of the following lodges: Masonic, Eagle, Moose and Elks.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Carl, Jr., and two daughters, Dorothy and Delores; by his mother, Mrs. Mary Shumaker, Mt. Pleasant, also four sisters, Mrs. Everett Moxley, Mrs. Leslie Hallowell, Mrs. Wilfred Hoagland and Mrs. Secial Billingsley, all of Mt. Pleasant, and a brother, Hugh Shumaker of Washington state.

Hugh expects to come for the service and the time will be arranged when his arrival time is learned. The body was taken to the Giles Funeral home.
