Lillian Marie Scarff

Mrs. Lillian Marie Scarff, 79, Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, July 28, 1991, at 5:55 p.m. at Pleasant Manor Care Center.

She was born, Dec. 24, 1911, in Henry County, the daughter of Job Lloyd and Julia Johnson Ford. On July 12, 1941, in Nashua, she married Thomas Ray Scarff, who preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1969.

She and her husband owned and operated Scarff's Produce and Fuel Company of Mt. Pleasant.

She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia McDowell and Judith Greenwald, both Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Otelia Zink and Evelyn Higgins, both of Burlington, Irene Tiley, Pennsylvania, and Helen Gisser, Mt. Pleasant.

Also preceding her in death was a brother, Lloyd Ernest Ford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's, with the Rev. Wayne Kamm officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beatty Funeral Home where visitation will begin after 10 a.m. A memorial has been established to St. Michael's Episcopal Church.
