Freda Mae Scarff

Freda Mae Scarff, 93, Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, May 22, 1992 at her home.

She was born Nov. 7, 1898, near Richwood, in western Henry County, the daughter of John Edward and Lula Mitts Bates. On Jan. 12, 1921, in Richwood, she married Leslie Glen Scarff, who died Sept. 16, 1965.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn Scarff, Lake Ozark, Mo., and Raymond Scarff, Trenton; two daughters, Evelyn Graber, Elkhart, Ind., and Bernice Engelhard, Marceline, MO.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lilly Scarff, Mt. Pleasant.

Also preceding her in death were her parents.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at Trenton Missionary Church with Rev. Michael Moser officiating. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the church.

Beatty Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
