Maxine L. Sammons

Maxine L. Sammons, 78, of Mount Pleasant, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born April 21, 1918, at Yarmouth, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Grace Boling Welch. On May 15, 1959, at Mount Pleasant she married Lawrence Sammons.

Mrs. Sammons was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Calvin Tague, of Lockridge; one grandson and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Sammons will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Beatty Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
